Very timely! My daughter has befriended a single mum - encouraged by true religeon is to widows and orphans... noble, but of course unprotected single mums have friends that are singles and unmarrieds. This has exposed her to a divorced man with a child, multiple partners in his past, a criminal past, smoker, drinker and probably tats, whom we knew of in the past, from a troubled family. When this bomb was dropped we were stunned and immeadiately advised against it. But "he has become a Christian too some years ago". We are all prayerful about it because of the high expectations of a young girl set apart for Gods highest marrying a young man also set apart. Because of our initial shock she has held back on introducing him to us - despite a covenant ring in the past.and an apology over our initial reaction.
It is now about 5 or 6 weeks and we are apealing based on our protection of her and are trying to get her to talk to Pastor and other wise counsel of her choice and get a neutral meet organised. This is so stressful for my dear wife and I am stretched looking to the Lord of the storm for His direction. Thank you for your timely article and we know you will join with us in praying God's best for ...each, and a hedge of protection that no satisfaction for either in any other than Gods best for each.
This is only a few sentences so cannot give all the details but it shows the value and timing of your article for everyone. Thank you
