New Prime-Time Interviews with Chris and Susan Field

Susan and I were seen last night on two national TV channels in Australia, at the same time!

Channel 7 interviewed us on Christmas Eve and put their story to air in the Today Tonight program at 6.30pm.  We were the lead story.

Channel 9 recycled existing footage they recorded back in October and linked that into new footage of a lady fighting the banks (who I put them in touch with) in the A Current Affair program at 6.30pm.  Again, we were the lead story.

It came about because of a level of competition between the two programs.  But it is good for us – at least for all those watching TV at 6.30pm.

To see the Channel 9 story go to their on-line hosting at: http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8189402

Money Myth Exploded

Money Myth Exploded – based on an article by Louis Even (1885-1974)

Five men are marooned on an island and build up a successful society, with each working his trade. Between them they provide crops, meat, carpentry, stone and metals and barter with each other to share their efforts and produce.

They miss the convenience of paper money to help them trade with each other, but that need is met with the arrival of a banker who survived from another shipwreck.

The banker has with him a printing press and a barrel of gold to back his currency.  Thus the men are delighted at the prospect of having money in their hands.  They each do their best to please the banker who holds the tantalising power of money.  Meanwhile the banker buries his barrel of gold where none of the men will find it.

The banker prints 1,000 notes with a face value of $1 and the banker then provides each man with $200.  But first he has them sign an agreement that they will pay the money back with 8% interest at the end of the year.  This is to pay him for providing the money that is backed by his barrel of gold.  They each happily accept the terms, since they delight in the privilege of having money in their pockets.

Trading accelerates and productivity is high.  All are happy with the new situation.

However, as the year comes to a close they realise that it is impossible to pay back the $200 capital and the $16 interest that each person owes.  The banker only produced $1,000 in notes and yet he requires $1,080 in payments.

When the men challenge the banker about this impossible situation the banker agrees to accept only the interest payment, which they certainly can pay.

The banker encourages them to organise a national system where each man is levied a tax to ensure the money is available to pay the interest.  Those who have more will be taxed more.

As the men follow the banker’s advice he exults in the control he is now wielding over the whole community.  He effectively owns all their assets and controls their lives.

The new system of taxes causes the men to compensate by putting up their prices and reducing their purchases to preserve money.  They also begin to resent their situation, taking less interest in their work, arguing for more pay and trying to squeeze money out of each other.  Ill-will develops between the “haves” and the “have nots”.

The banker’s interest-only solution turns sour when the men realise that in time they will have paid all their money to the banker and still owe him the initial capital.

When the men challenge the banker yet again about their desperate situation he offers to extend more credit to them, so they can have money to make the next payments.  The men realise that such an arrangement leads to spiralling debt.  But there seems to be no solution.

To protect his place of control over the community, the banker promotes political division, printing two newspapers.  One paper tells the conservatives that the radicals cause the problems, while the other paper informs the radicals that the conservatives are the problem.  By maintaining division the banker is protected against a unified rejection of his controlling influence.

The men are saved by the discovery of a book about Social Credit.  It explains that wealth is created by productivity, not by debt.  When the society increases its productivity and creates more goods, then new wealth is created.

Rather than borrowing money from someone who guarantees it with gold, the society can give each person a share of the social wealth, as a Social Credit in an account.

As the men trade among themselves accounting records can be kept to track their personal account.  As the society’s wealth is built up, such as by improved infrastructure and increased goods, each person can receive a dividend payout, by new credit put into their account.

If someone needs funds to develop a new project the society can give him an advance of Credit which is paid back from the proceeds of the new development.

As the men come to understand this simple, alternative way of providing for trade among each other they now see the dangers of the banker’s debt based money.

They decide to confront the banker and to banish him from the island.  They refuse to give him interest on the money he printed, since he did not actually create new value and does not deserve anything more than what he created.

As the men help the banker dig up his barrel of gold they discover that the barrel contains nothing more than rocks.  There was no gold backing the paper money.  The men had been duped by their fascination for gold and for money itself.

The men are eventually rescued from the island and they take with them a firm commitment to extend the idea of Social Credit as the truly viable alternative to the debt based banking system.

Scottish engineer Clifford Hugh Douglas (1879-1952) developed the concept of Social Credit following his experiences in India in 1908 where major development projects were restricted by limited money.  Other similar experiences following and by 1918 he began propounding the idea of Social Credit as a way of getting projects funded.

Louis Even (1885-1974) wrote Money Myth Exploded to help explain the Social Credit concept in a short booklet form.  The full version, with cartoon images, can be read at JeremyLee.com.au. http://www.jeremylee.com.au

A Liberator is Born

Freedom lovers the world over pause to remember the greatest liberator of all time, finding courage from the example of one who achieved more in 33 years than empires achieve in centuries.

Born in humble circumstances this likable young man lived in the system of his day, under local tyrants and a global oppressor, but he radicalised the world nonetheless.

He was not a rebel, but a devotee.  Not a protester but architect and master builder.

Rather than live to fight evil, he lived that good might prevail, thus breaking evil’s power.

Rather than react to cruel global force, he ushered in a supreme and surpassing kingdom to prevail over all powers ever since.

Rather than employ human energies, he walked in the power of God, to fulfil divine purpose.

Rather than recruit us to react to the wrongs of our day, he enlists us to live with the rights of a new dimension.

In the name of this liberator, cut down in his prime, multiplied millions, in every culture and from every creed, have been set free.  That new freedom is multi-dimensional.

It transforms the inner life, activating a connection with the divine that is truly life changing.

It is also social, transforming families and healing broken relationships.

It triumphs over personal demons, unlocking addictions and slaveries of the will.

And it is cultural, liberating whole communities from superstition, fear, exploitation and shame.

Here’s to the liberated millions!

And here’s to the Greatest Liberator of All Time: Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God, Saviour, Lord, King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

We celebrate his birth and we live in the power of his resurrection.

We are now the liberators; led by him who cannot be surpassed and building that kingdom that has no end.

Justice for Dummies 1

What is Justice? When people say they want “justice”, what do they mean?

Can you give a good definition for justice?

I have been urged by friends to get right back to the basics of “justice” so people recognise what it is that I am fighting for. To do that I will probably have to write several articles that open the subject bit by bit.

Simple Definitions

Ignoring the dictionaries, we can say that “justice” is when things are done right for all.

Another way of putting it is that justice is when you do what your conscience tells you is right.

And yet another way to put it is that the higher moral values are upheld in a situation, no matter who it upsets or disadvantages.

But I think the best way to discover justice is not in definitions but in practical examples.

English ideas of “justice” came from the Holy Bible, because England has had a thousand years of Christianity. English common law was developed from putting the Bible into practice. The kings and queens made promises (Imperial Acts) based on their responsibility before God.

So, let’s have a look at a well known Biblical example of justice at work.

One Dead Baby

King Solomon was faced with a thorny question from two prostitutes. They were both single mothers and overnight one of the babies died. The woman who woke up with a dead baby accused the other woman of stealing her baby, swapping them in the night. Both women claimed the living baby was theirs. (See 1Kings 3:16-28)

Note a couple of things about this case right up front. These women had no-one to protect them. They did not have husbands. They were immoral women and in some cultures they could have no rights whatsoever.

But here they are speaking directly to the King of the whole land. That’s justice! True justice gives the same rights to ALL, because all men are created equal.

In some cultures there is an elite group which seeks to rule others as if those others are lesser people. That is happening in Australia and other advanced nations today.

Way back in 1215 the English monarchy recognised and declared that everyone, even the King, is under the law. There is justice for all.

Competing Claims

Both of these women made the same claim, “It’s MY baby!” So, one of them was lying. But, being women who lived by immorality, they would have no qualms about lying.

Yet they were not rejected. While the situation was challenging, King Solomon did not send them away empty. He determined to get to the bottom of the matter.

That’s justice!

In some places it’s just “too hard” to sort things out and so the courts resort to sharing out the blame or the costs or the loss. The idea is that some kind of equity or fairness is achieved. But that is not Justice. Justice gets right to the bottom of the matter and makes sure that the decision is as accurate as can be.

No Red Tape

Australian courts have tripped me up and denied me justice by imposing their various rules and protocol. But notice that King Solomon did not send these women away to fill out a form in triplicate, or to get representation from a duly qualified lawyer, or to present their case in a particular fashion. They had complete and ready access to the source of justice. The “Substance” of justice was not destroyed by the “form” of the “legal process” or the rules and regulations.

In Australia today I find that courts use the legal process and their rules and regulations to take justice from ordinary Aussies.

The Heart of the Matter

Justice is not a matter of text book exactness, but a matter of the heart. It is a ‘moral’ issue. God, who created us, is a moral Being and He looks at our hearts.

King Solomon, wisely, exposed the heart of the women.

He told the women he would cut the baby in half and give half to each one. He had no intention of doing so, but he used that suggestion to get the “hearts” of the women speaking.

One woman said, “Good. Then neither of us will have the baby.” But the other woman said, “Please don’t kill the child. Let the other woman have the child.”

The two responses revealed which of the women had a mother’s heart for the child. The woman who believed she had been cheated proved to be the one who was the mother of the child.

True Justice

When the two women left Solomon one of them was exposed as a thief and a liar. I don’t think she was happy about that.

True justice is not about making everyone happy, but doing what is RIGHT. The woman who stole and lied had no right to anything except shame, and that is what she received.

The woman whose child was stolen received what was rightfully hers. He child was given back to her. She received justice and could raise her child in all the joy of her motherhood.

Summary

Justice, then, is doing what is right, morally. It is not about everyone getting an equal share, but it is about everyone having the same rights before the courts.

Everyone is entitled to an outcome that is morally right. It will be an outcome that sits right in your conscience and that pleases God, because evil people will not be rewarded.

Today in Australia and other advanced nations we are not given that form of justice. People who do not use lawyers are disadvantaged. People who challenge the elite, ruling class which thinks it is superior to others, are blocked in the courts.

The courts have become a place where people use power to take advantage of others. They entangle people with rules, fairness, pre-set judgments and other tricks to deny them justice.

What makes this so criminal, in perverting the course of justice and committing Treason against the Crown, is that the monarchs of England promised us all over 700 years ago that, “We will sell to no man, we will not deny or defer to any man justice or right.”
